2026 Safe Worker Award Recipient - Matthew Walker

Today was an incredibly proud moment for the City of Melville.

Matthew Walker was awarded the 2026 Saskatchewan Safe Worker Award at the WCB Compensation Institute. Earlier this year, we shared the exciting news that Matthew had been selected as a finalist — and today, we had the privilege of watching him walk across that stage and accept this well-deserved honour.

Anyone who knows Matthew knows this recognition could not have gone to a more deserving person. His dedication to safety, his leadership, his work ethic, and the genuine care he shows for the people around him are evident in everything he does. He leads by example every day and continuously works to make our workplace safer and better for everyone.

Matthew represented not only himself today, but the entire City of Melville with pride, professionalism, and humility. Watching him receive this award was a special moment for all of us.
