Come and experience the warm hospitality that Melville is known for!

The City of Melville is a volunteering community consisting of neighbourhoods rich in century-old history and supplemented with fresh perspectives of immigrants, youth, nearby hamlets, and villages. Melville is surrounded by the golden fields and the diverse prairie wildlife in the summer along with the sparkling white ice crystals in the winter. Residents and visitors alike will quickly come to witness the 'Land of the Living Skies' as panoramic views of Saskatchewan are highlighted by brilliant sunsets year-round.

Melville is a clean, safe, and friendly community which constitutes an excellent environment to explore or call home. Honourably, the cleanliness initiative is led by Mayor Walter Streelasky, as he organizes an annual Earth Day Cleanup to encourage residents to follow suit in keeping the city's many green spaces flourishing. The city is home to a Volunteer Fire & Rescue, RCMP, and St. Peter's Hospital, which work together along with a vigilant community to keep citizens safe. Additionally, Melville's residents are known to work hard on their passion projects to bring new opportunities and growth for the city.

Known as a community rich in sport, Melville is home to the SJHL's Melville Millionaires. The hockey team, which began shortly after Melville was built, has been known as reigning champions of the hockey world starting in 1915. This title has eventually led to the extensive sports teams in the area including youth hockey teams, youth football, youth soccer, archery, dance, junior golf teams, swimming, and more.

Melville is also known for its foundational railway history, which led to the birth of the city over 110 years ago. Due to Charles Melville Hayes, the namesake of the city, Melville became a hub for the railroad and continues this role today. The full history of the community is featured in the Railway Museum located in the Melville Regional Park.
