Welcome to Melville!
A Message From Our Mayor
Working Together...To Grow Melville
On behalf of the City Council and the citizens of Melville, it is my great pleasure to welcome you to our vibrant and friendly city, located in East Central Saskatchewan. Strategically positioned on the CN main line and at the crossroads of Highways 10, 15, and 47, Melville is just a short drive south to the beautiful Qu’Appelle Valley and Crooked Lake.
Melville, proudly known as the “Home of the Millionaires,” is a community rich in spirit, history, and opportunity. With exceptional amenities, we offer a quality of life that is second to none. Our city boasts a wide range of sports and cultural activities for residents of all ages. From our clean, well-maintained homes and properties to our dynamic business community, Melville is an inviting and safe place to live and work.
Our city is home to one of the province's newest hospitals, seamlessly connected to our senior care facility, ensuring top-tier healthcare for all. Education is another cornerstone of our community, with excellent schools from Pre-K to Grade 12 and the Suncrest College providing diverse post-secondary opportunities. Additionally, our abundant water supply is a vital natural resource, making Melville a sustainable and attractive option for new industries and residents alike.
We are incredibly proud of our reputation as a “City of Volunteers,” where community involvement and collaboration make things happen. It is this spirit that creates our “Winning Spirit” and makes Melville the community of choice for visitors, friends, and those seeking a welcoming, affordable, and safe place to call home.
As someone who has called Melville home since 1984, I have witnessed firsthand the unique strength of our community. After serving two terms as a city councilor and now as your mayor, I remain deeply committed to Melville’s growth and success. My involvement in various local boards and committees has reinforced my belief in the importance of working together to address challenges and achieve meaningful results for our city.
If you have any questions, ideas, or concerns, I would be delighted to hear from you. Together, we can continue building a bright future for Melville.
Warm regards,
Joe Kirwan
Mayor, City of Melville
